The World Council for Curriculum and Instruction - Philippines Chapter (WCCIPh)
held a General Assembly and Orientation of new members on October 12, 2019 at
St. Paul University Manila with the theme: “Strengthening Transformative
Learning and Global Citizenship Education.” The Officers of the chapter conducted
their Board Meeting in the morning while the Assembly with Orientation was held
in the afternoon.
In their meeting, the officers discussed the Guidelines for new applicants, plans
for the national and international conventions, and the activities and updates on
the WCCI Philippines Committees, namely: a) Membership; b) Programs, Projects,
Activities and Special Events; c) Research, Documentation and Publication; d)
Special Interest Groups; and e) Ways and Means.
The orientation and general assembly program featured the talk of Dr. Swee-Hin
Toh, WCCI President; group activity and sharing facilitated by Dr. Marites Africa;
Testimonials on WCCI Experience by Sr. Merceditas Ang, SPC, Dr. Emerita Garon,
and Dr. Vicky Naval; and the plenary presentation on “Education for Life” in the
context of the 4th industrial revolution by Sr. Flordeliza Deza, SPC. Dr. Teresita
Pedrajas, presented the WCCI vision-mission and activities, then, invited everyone
to join the Philippine delegation to attend the WCCI International Conference in
San Diego, California, U.S.A. on July 9-15, 2020.
The program, which was participated in by almost a hundred members, was
facilitated by Ms. Vanessa Garon-Vandevort.
