    The WCCI Philippine Student Teachers’ Network (PSTN), now on its 8th year was convened by Dr. Teresita Paed-Pedrajas, the International WCCI Vice President 2011-2012, and National President, 2000-2002, and Dr. Carolina Danao, then the International WCCI Executive Member 2011-2012, and National President , 2007-2008 intended to expose the future teachers to the WCCI programs and advocacies and to prepare them for active involvement in their personal and professional growth programs in various advocacies for life. Among the activities conducted were : holding of annual national conventions in Meralco Multipurpose Hall for student teachers from both public and private institutions in the Philippines; providing workshop sessions for collaboration on the personal & communal actions in varied Special Interest Groups like: Peace Education, Human Rights, Gender Education, Community Development, Global Education, Special Education, Early Childhood Education and Values Education.

    To form global educators beyond borders, some Filipino student teachers were brought for one month in National Kaohsiung Normal University in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, Alliant International University in San Diego, California, USA and in Maefra Fatima School in Bangkok ,Thailand among others for exposure and practice teaching. Their significant experiences and research papers were shared during the national and international conventions, too. In these five national conventions, Dr. Teresita P. Pedrajas ,then the Dean of the School of Arts, Sciences and Education, and Dr. Carolina P. Danao, Quality Assurance Director of St. Dominic College of Asia served as the major institution partner for manpower and conference management from 2012-2015.

    The national officers in 2016- 2018 assumed leadership roles in holding caravan meetings on Peace Education, Global Citizenship and 21st Century skills for Teachers held in different institutions like Philippine Women’s University, National Teachers College, St.Paul University of Manila, St. Paul University of Tuguegarao, Miriam College , Centro Escolar University, Adamson University and St. Dominic College of Asia. Annual National Leadership Training & Teambuilding Sessions were also conducted prior to the election of officers in St. Paul University of Manila, St. Dominic College of Asia, National Teachers’ College, Polytechnic University of the Philippines among others.
    The Fifth National Convention coincided its First ASEAN Student Teachers Conference held in St. Paul College of Pasig on October 4-5,2015 with the involvement of ASEAN student delegates and administrators too, with the help of Ambassador Plenipotentiary Rosalinda V.Tirona and Dr. Genevieve Balance-Kupang . Inter-faith Prayer session among the delegates from the ASEAN ; presentation of research papers and workshop sessions on constructivist theories of learning and presentation of SIG resolutions and projects. Around five hundred fifty student teachers with College Deans and Professors were in attendance.
    Moreover, the twenty eight officers and Special Interest Groups Coordinators of 2017-2018 from varied institutions were assigned to major committees during the WCCI-ASEAN Conference in Novotel, Manila on August 17-19,2017.
    We are indeed thankful for the major partnership of the Quezon City Local Government under the Hon. Herbert Bautista for sponsoring the whole convention for the ASEAN delegates. Their attendance afforded one of the most outstanding international conferences they have participated as Committee members and participants.
    On March 3,2018 , The WCCI Philippine Student Teachers’ Network , as a major partner, was approved by the mother organization: WCCI, Philippine Chapter Board of Trustees in its meeting during the meeting on the Amendment and Revision of its Constitution and By Laws held in ST. Paul College of Pasig.
    The 7th WCCI PSTN with the theme: “Demonstrating Youth Leadership in Values Formation, Peace Making, Community Service & Environmental Care” was held on March 16-17,2018 in the Maharlika Room, SM Aura , Taguig City with theHon. Mayor Lani Lopez- Cayetano as the major sponsor.Esteemed Guest Speakers were : Ambassador Rosalinda V. Tirona, Dr. JasminNario-Galace, Ms. Charito Canon-Garcia and Dr.Efren Punzalan. The 250 participants composed of student teachers and administrators from different parts of the Philippines discussed the how they manifested their involvement in the values formation, peacemaking, environmental care and community services via concrete projects and action research papers. Collaborative youth leadership plans as future excellent peacemakers, values formators, facilitators, leaders, researchers and community youth developers were animatedly presented. This was included with a greatly personalized open forum and challenges from the Honorable Senator and Arts Chair Francis “Chiz” Escudero.
    The WCCI Philippine Student Network was ably represented in the WCCI 18th World Conference in Rome, Italy on July 7-20, 2018 by its current President, Rubeck Pineda from Adamson University and Co-Youth Adviser, Erika May Caparros from Philippine Women’s University.
    The 2017-2018 officers conducted its National Youth Leadership and Team building Session National Student Teachers’ Leadership Training Seminar with the Theme: “Transformative Leadership: A Diversified Unity”on August 25, 2018 with 65 representatives in attendance in the Polytechnic University of the Philippines ,College of Arts Audiovisual Center, Sta. Mesa, Manila under the active sponsorship of the PUP Dean and WCCI member ,Dr. Evangeline Seril.
    The 2018-2019 Executive officers with their adviser, Dr. Ronald Santos and Youth co-advisers as: Robert Gomez, Erika May Caparros and Seane Lopez were sworn into office during the WCCI National General Assembly of the mother organization on September 29,2018 in the PUP Assembly Hall.
    Moreover, in its December 9, 2018 officers’ meeting , Mr. Seanne Lopez challenged the officers to be more focused on the impact of WCCI with its Acronym: W for Welfare; C for Compassion and Competence; C for Collaboration and I for Initiative in all their involvement . The Regional Caravan on “Decoding Mental Health Awareness on the 21st Century Education”is scheduled in the University of Batangas as co-sponsor in Batangas City on January 26,2019 at 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. under the leadership of Mark Louis Javier, the WCCI PSTN Vice President for Luzon from Batangas State University .We intend to have more active student teacher- leaders from this region.
    The WCCI PSTN 8th National Conference with the theme:The Role of Global Citizenship Education in Community Development Programs “ is scheduled on April 13, 2019 (venue to be confirmed). Communications with the institutional Deans of Education will follow.
    Our heartfelt gratitude to Sr. Teresita Agana, spc and High School Principal of St. Paul College of Pasig for accommodating us for regular meetings on Sundays and holidays as well as the all –out support of the mother organization in all our programs and activities. Thank you to the institutional Deans who allow their student teachers to lead as well.
