In an era where artificial intelligence is reshaping education, equipping educators with AI literacy and innovative teaching strategies is essential. Acknowledging this need, the World Council for Curriculum and Instruction (WCCI) Philippines Chapter, in collaboration with St. Paul University Philippines (SPUP), successfully launched the first session of its AI-focused webinar series on February 22, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM via Zoom.

The session, “AI Literacy & Application for Teaching and Learning,” was led by Ms. Imelda Agorto, MAIDT, from the School of Arts, Sciences, and Teacher Education of SPUP. Educators and professionals from various schools and organizations across the Philippines and beyond participated in the insightful discussion, gaining a deeper understanding of AI’s transformative role in education. The session highlighted the importance of AI literacy in developing engaging, adaptive, and student-centered learning environments, while also addressing challenges and ethical considerations.
The Part 2 of the webinar series will be held on April 5, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM via Zoom. This session will focus on “Best Practices of AI-Empowered Instruction,” showcasing practical strategies, real-world applications, and success stories of AI integration in classrooms. Participants will gain valuable insights on how to harness AI tools effectively to enhance teaching efficiency, student engagement, and learning outcomes.

As artificial intelligence continues to shape the future of education, ongoing learning and adaptation are crucial for educators to maximize its potential responsibly. The WCCI Philippines Chapter and SPUP remain steadfast in their commitment to promoting AI-driven, transformative education, fostering a global network of forward-thinking educators dedicated to innovation and excellence.
With the second session on the horizon, this webinar series serves as an invaluable platform for educators to explore, discuss, and implement AI-powered instructional methods that will define the future of learning.
